Getting Active in the Commmunity

Have you been wanting to help out in our community but are unsure of where to start? The new year brings a new season of social events, such as a spring fling, Memorial Day BBQ, and Oktoberfest, just
to name a few.

The Braun Oaks Social Committee plans, organizes and presents social events for our community throughout the year. If you would like to get active in our communtiy and volunteer your time to help organize events, please email socialcommittee@braunoaks.net.

The Social Committee looks forward to working with you!

NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE

Please be a good neighbor and place your garbage containers in your garage or in the backyard.  They should be kept out of sight.  Let's all take pride in our neighborhood by replacing those broken windows, keeping the lawns cut and edged and hedges trimmed, picking up all the trash, and having broken down vehicles towed away.

JUSTIN OLSEN
LIVING THE OLYMPIC DREAM

When you tune into the Olympics this February, you may just recognize one of our own former residents. Justin Olsen, a Braun Oaks Dolphin for many years and one of our former lifeguards will be competing for a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver with the USA Bobsled Team.

Justin began the sport of bobsledding when tryouts were held here in 2007 and made the team in his first season. He has been living and training in Lake Placid, New York and competing around the world with his team ever since.

Justin joined Steve Holcomb’s team for the 2008-2009 season and the team went on to medal many times during the World Cup tour and won a gold medal in the four-man bobsled at the 2009 World Championships. The first World Championship that USA Bobsled had won in 50 years!

Good luck to Justin and all our Olympic Athletes in 2010!
